Stampede

Robert was happy to participate in the 69th annual El Toro Stampede sailboat regatta today at the Richmond Yacht Club.  The El Toro boat was invented there, and there have been kids and others sailing them for a long time.

Today the Richmond club also hosted the Nationals for the U20 boats.  Ooooh.  Robert will take one of those.  Much easier on the knees..

Robert is proud to say that he is making continuous improvement with his sailboat racing skills.  In today’s first race, he failed to finish.  In the second race, he came in last.  That’s improvement!

He treated himself to a San Pelligrino soda after it was all over.  Prickly pear and orange.  Ummm.

Tony’s 60th!

Last night we celebrated our good friend Tony Hoff’s 60th birthday here at the Meadows! He sure has a lot of good friends. We love him lots.

Fallen Leaf Lake 2016

Robert, Rory and Cadie went camping this weekend at Fallen Leaf Lake near Tahoe. Jakob and Caroline Gron joined in the fun. Actually, it was a fishing trip.  Rory caught one (two-incher).

Did you know that Lake Tahoe holds 38 trillion gallons of water? Enough to cover the entire state with 14 inches of water?

Swansons

Yesterday the Pierces were happy to host Marjorie Swanson and her son Peter for dinner and discussion.  And John came too. Marjorie came out from Minnesota for a visit! She is the cousin  of John Schwirtz (his father’s sister’s daughter).
